“The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit,” oil on canvas, by John Singer Sargent, 1882.

We pay winners of our annual contests (fiction, flash fiction, poetry, and memoir). We want to pay them generously. There’s just one pesky impediment: we live hand-to-mouth. To which end we solicit donations. Donations pay writers and cover a very few operating expenses, such as hosting and domain registration. Editors, judges, and other staff at The Lascaux Review are unpaid volunteers.

Every contribution is welcome, no matter how small. On behalf of our writers and poets, for whom payment in this industry has become a luxury, you have our heartfelt gratitude.
